During the Middle Ages and up to the Civil War the Abbey would have been endowed with fine stained glass, but most of it was destroyed during the Abbey’s turbulent later history. All the present glass is 20th century apart from surviving fragments of medieval glass which were inserted in the tracery of the window on the south side.
